The Russian branch of Bonduelle has a geographically-distributed infrastructure with plants in Krasnodar region and office in Moscow. Before the project, each business unit independently bought necessary Microsoft licenses following the Open License model. The SAM project became a necessity because the company wanted to assess the existing software contracts and choose a more flexible licensing model.
Softline experts analyzed the IT infrastructure in each of the business units — 7 servers and 223 workstations in total — with Microsoft Assessment and Planning Toolkit. Besides basic Microsoft software true-up, the project included cybersecurity assessment in accordance with 20 main cyber threat protection criteria. The client was proposed to choose Microsoft Products and Services Agreement (MPSA) as the new licensing model, and to use virtualization. Softline specialists suggested to optimize the Microsoft SQL Server usage due to migration of 1C database to Microsoft Azure.
